What a Fantastic Sports Day for Fourth Class!
Today, we had a fantastic Sports Day filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of excitement. We made our way to Abbey Drive at 10am, where the GAA coaches had a variety of activity stations ready for us to enjoy.
Our first station was with Conor, where we took part in a Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament. Everyone was full of enthusiasm, and the competition created a real buzz among the pupils.
Next, we joined James for a team game where one group stood on the sidelines while the other tried to run through without being struck by a ball. It was great fun and kept everyone active and engaged.
After break time, we headed to the dodgeball station with another Conor. This proved to be a highlight of the day, with plenty of exciting moments. One standout memory was when Ivan made an incredible one-handed catch, bringing almost his entire team back into the game!
Our next activity was rounders with Micheál. We thoroughly enjoyed developing our skills and taking part in some friendly competition. Thankfully, the sun continued to shine throughout the morning.
After lunch, we joined our GAA coach, Ciara, who led a variety of enjoyable games and activities. A particularly popular challenge was a catching game that everyone loved.
To conclude our time with the coaches, pupils from 3rd to 6th class were divided into seven mixed teams. It was wonderful to see everyone working together, encouraging one another, and enjoying the spirit of teamwork.
To round off a brilliant day, we spent 20 minutes in the playground before heading home.
We would like to sincerely thank all of the coaches for their patience, enthusiasm, and encouragement throughout the day. Sports Day was a tremendous success, and we all had a truly memorable time.
